be the light: by alma de la melena cox

look at all those sparkles! i can't resist anything glittery. :) seriously. i'd cover my house in glitter if i knew ryan wouldn't prompty move out. ha ha! anyway, this is another piece by the ever-fabulous alma de la melena cox.

she says she wanted to send us this quote by marianne williamson and an image of a piece she made that is her personal reminder of her reason for being here.

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

what a great quote. oh, that marianne williamson... she's one smart cookie!
i'd like to be mindful of letting my own light shine-- how would it be to exist that way for other people, so they could have permission to do the same? that sounds like a pretty good life to me.

be sure to check out alma's website and blog for more of her work.

*thank you, alma, for sharing the quote and your beautiful art with us!*
