ok, so i'm not a partier by any stretch, but i like the idea of wearing my fun clothes around the house just because! i work at home, which means i don't go out very often at all, and it also means i spend many days in yoga pants and a t-shirt. it gets a little old (even thought it's comfy!)
so it might be fun to get all dolled up occasionally. what do you think? do you work at home? what do you do to keep it fun? i'd love to know!
i hope you all have a terrific weekend, and i will see you on monday!
{the illustration is by me, obviously) :)
I know what you mean!! Sometimes I like to put makeup on- and a pair of huge earrings- even high heels. I just get so tired of being in flannel pants all day! It helps if I pretend I'm going to have company over at some point. Then I'm motivated to look my best.
ReplyDeleteHa! So funny, I work from home as well and at least once a week I get dressed up, make-up and all, and then sit down at my computer and work all morning and not a soul sees what I look like until I pick up the kids!
ReplyDeleteA parent at my kid's school said, "So I see you get all dolled up for basketball games." Yep, that is my big 'outing,' and then I come home and slip right back into the paint-ridden sweats. A girl has to make the most of these opportunities!
ReplyDeleteTo keep things fun at home I occassionally have to dance to Madonna, Janet Jackson, Beyonce' or a hip-hop piece on the radio....but in my sweats :).
I have to get a bit dolled up for work monday thru friday, but when I "work" at home on the weekends, it is SO easy to let the day roll by in my comfy clothes...
ReplyDeleteI try to get dressed at least for the evening- even if I don't go out!!!
It just makes you feel better:)
It's fun to dress up! Why not? Kids do it, and look how much fun they have! :)
ReplyDeleteHi! I work at home as well and always make myself get dressed up a little bit because you never know what the day will hold!
ReplyDeleteOohhh I know how you feel! I’m not a party girl AT ALL and plus I work at home too… No a lot of opportunities to dress up ;) BUT at least I put a little bit of makeup everyday just to sit on front of my computer.
ReplyDeleteI spent the first half of my life paying drycleaning bills; the next 50 years I'll live in comfy clothes. :)
ReplyDeleteLol! I work from home too, so completely understand how this feels!
ReplyDeleteI have this green skirt covered in spangles. It's very comfy and goes through the regular laundry (I practice survival of the fittest when it comes to machine washing) and I wear it with a striped sweater and ballet flats and a blue bracelet. I feel all dressed up for staying at home with toddlers and messing on the computer or doing art or writing or making dinner or whatever, but I do it every once in a while.
ReplyDeleteActually, I feel better now that I pay a little more attention to dressing "up" to stay at home, rather than just shlump around in stained, stretched out clothes. But don't get me wrong, comfort is still important.
